There seems to be no end in sight to the COVID-19 pandemic that’s been raging across the globe for over a year. By now, most people have been forced to put an indefinite halt on their travel plans. While social distancing and self-quarantining are challenging ways to get used to living, technology is one thing to be grateful for during these trying times.

The World at Your Fingertips

With all the technological advancements that have been made by 2021, the world is literally at your fingertips. It’s easier than ever to do everything from working and shopping to socializing and playing all in the comfort and safety of home.

Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a foodie, an outdoor adventurist, or an art and culture buff, it’s easy to get a travel fix online these days. In 2021 there are a seemingly endless number of virtual tours, interactive experiences, and streaming options available that make some of the most thrilling and beautiful destinations in the world easy to explore.

Riding some of the best coasters in the world, learning what people in various countries love to eat, climbing mountains, going deep-sea diving, and touring some of the most iconic art, history, and science museums in the world are just some of the fantastic virtual exploration options at your fingertips this year. Just do a quick Google search, and you’ll find dozens of options laid out in front of you.

Make the Most of Your Virtual Explorations

Before you set off in search of your ideal virtual travel adventures, there are a couple of things you can do to make the most of your virtual explorations.

First, make sure that you connect to a VPN server before browsing various sights on your virtual expeditions. A VPN will keep your PC or other electronic device and all the data on it safe and protected as you wander the virtual globe. In addition to masking your IP address and encrypting all incoming and outgoing data, a VPN can allow you to access region-specific content from countries outside of your own.

Another thing you should do (if you haven’t already) is invest in a VR headset. There are plenty of affordable options on the market that are compatible with a range of devices. A VR headset can make a huge difference in your virtual exploration experiences, especially for thrill rides and outdoor scenery.

Follow the tips in this quick guide to quench your thirst for exploration in 2021.
