During the 3rd inning of the Padres-Giants game on Thursday night the real excitement was happening off the field where baby Levi was making sure his mother had a memorable birth story to share with the world.
Mom and Dad went to cheer on their team before their family expanded but Levi had other plans. Mom, who was 39 weeks pregnant, went into labour but didn’t make it out of stadium. Fortunately, Giant’s catcher and “sorta doctor” Buster Posey was in the building
But seriously, one of the nurses on staff at Petco Field, Donna Borowy is a former midwife who says she has delivered “three to four thousand babies”
When I got there she was completely dilated and having to push. She was perfectly calm. She said, ‘I’m having my baby, can I make it to the hospital.’
5 minutes later, Levi was welcomed into the world. The Padres were quick to welcome their newest fan on twitter.
Great crowd of 31,137 here tonight– of course that doesn't include the baby boy that was born @PetcoPark around the third inning.

Both mom and baby are doing great and were transferred to the hospital where, this morning, the Padres’ mascot Friar stopped by with some Padres swag for their youngest fan.
Welcome to the world Levi!
