Why visit the Petronas Twin Towers in KL

Written by:  Jamie

The Petronas Twin Towers are indeed one of the most iconic landmarks of Kuala Lumpur. Your trip to KL or Malaysia is indeed not complete unless and until you pay a visit to the tallest twin towers in the world. It’s a good idea to book cheap airport transfers online and confirm your tickets in advance, especially during the peak season. Take advantage of klia express online booking to reach the Twin Towers without getting stuck in a traffic jam and enter without delay.

What makes Petronas Twin Towers so special?

Cesar Pelli & Associates designed the Towers that are joined at the 41st and 42nd floors. The towers are as special to Malaysia as the Eiffel Tower is to France. The Twin Towers are not only the tallest twin towers in the world, but they are a stunning example of an architectural marvel with cutting-edge innovation. The innovation behind the intelligent structure is based on the design of the floor plate of each tower. What you see is the shape of eight-pointed stars. Steel was used for decorative and reflective purposes and creates striking visuals. The ultra-modern exterior and the architectural prowess of these towers never fails to impress you, every time you look at them.

Most tourists visit the 88-story Petronas Twin Towers to get a spectacular view of the city from the top. A ride in the high-speed elevator that takes you up those towers is a thrilling experience in itself, and it takes you to the Observation Deck is located on the 86th floor. One gets amazing photo opportunity from the Observation Deck of the towers. Enjoy 360-degree views of the city and its skyline.

Another lure for the tourists is the connecting bridge located on the 41st floor, the Skybridge. The 58 meter-long, double-decker Sky Bridge is 175m above street level. It can be an unnerving experience to walk on the Skybridge at first, but it is must to take the 10-minute tour and appreciate the physics and engineering of the whole structure.

When inside, do not fail to admire the interior design of the building that reflects unique Malaysian aspects. The pandan weaving inspires the songket patterns and floor designs. There is plenty to interest the architecture enthusiasts here, whether it is the beautiful interior motifs or the stainless-steel-and-glass façade. Do not miss the chance to send a postcard from up above from a post box at the gift shop. One can browse an exquisite array of items in the gift shop and look for more merchandise to remember your visit. There are guided tours for the observation deck and the Skybridge.

It is hard to ignore the Twin towers and the impressive design. Locals and tourists of all age groups place a visit to the twin towers high on their list. As the Petronas Twin Towers are visited by a large number of tourists and travellers, a number of different public transportation options service the access to the towers. Klia express and LRT are the best options if you want to avoid traffic. You can get a cab or rent a car, but these are pricier options because of the exorbitant parking fees.

The best time to visit Petronas Tower is late evening as you would be there in time to catch the Light and fountain show from 7 to 9 pm. Keep in mind that the towers are closed every Monday and one can vest the towers from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00 am – 9.00 pm.
