When is a Nurse-In Effective?

Blame it on the prudes…

Do you remember back in May of 2011, Forest Park in Georgia passed an indecency ordinance that prohibited women from nursing in public if the child was over two years old?

Did you know this all started with a legal tug-of-war with the local strip clubs of the area? It somehow morphed into breastfeeding ordinance restricting public breastfeeding to children 24 months and under.

I have sometimes questioned the effectiveness of nurse-ins and I know others have, too. However, it seems in this case, it ended up aiding in amending and removing the breastfeeding age restrictions that were briefly implemented by the council.

What you you think? Are nurse-ins always a good idea? Only usefully as a last resort? Or do they hurt more than they help?
