Totally Weird Amazing and Unique Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Written by:  Jamie

Father’s Day can sometimes be the hardest shopping season of the year. I know it definitely is for me. If you want to change it up for dad come his big day, check out my top Father’s Day Gift Ideas below.

Oliberte Fair Trade Shoes starting at $55

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has been called the “Milan of Africa” due to its booming fashion industry. I am always on the search for the best fair-trade clothing that I can find, and without a doubt, Oliberte shoes win for design, durability, and price. I mean, just look at these men’s shoes, they would still be considered pretty awesome even if they were manufactured traditionally. But, best part of this is you can get the father in your life something stylish AND promote ethical sourcing and labor. It’s a win-win.

HydroFlask Growler $60

If dad doesn’t have one of these Hydroflasks, it is a must buy. If he does already have one… then get him another! Hydroflask is the best insulated container that I have ever used (and I’ve been in the hottest and coldest climates in the world over the past year).

Also moms and dads with babies- this is a breastmilk life saver! At one gathering I attended recently that was full of parents, we had a Hydroflask full of icy beer next to a Hydroflask full of breastmilk (preserved at the perfect temperature). It pretty much sums up the versatility of this flask.

Specialized Small Batch Coffee Roasted to Order $12

Choose from a number of specialized beans from around the world, and within 24 hours, they will be roasted and shipped to you in a rustic paper parcel, that looks like it could have been hand delivered by Indiana Jones himself. Any coffee loving dad with an adventurous spirit will appreciate the complexity of these beans.

Golf Ball Whiskey Chillers $24

Let dad chill his whiskey with these golf ball chillers by SipDark. These will add a slight chill to your whiskey without diluting the flavor.

Banned Books Socks $12

Is dad a bibliophile? Then he will love these literary socks featuring some of the most prominent books which have been banned in the past. (To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye,  James and the Giant Peach, Gone with the Wind, Catch-22, Native Son, Clockwork Orange… and the list goes on and on.)

Leather Camera Strap $38

If the dad in your life is into photography, considering giving him an upgraded accessory with this beautiful all-leather strap by Tether. Built to last, these will ship straight from the workshop in Huntington Beach, and I hear Tether’s customer service is top notch.

Donut Warming Mug $30 (set of 2)

Possibly the best invention ever created. You can hold and warm donuts, cookies, muffins, bagels …whatever…. on this mug, and your coffee and tea will stay hotter longer thanks to the design. (I purchased about a half dozen of these, because it is pretty much the best gift ever. )

Docking Station with Edison Light $87

Tech dads will love this handmade docking station with an Edison light to add a retro flare.

NFL Football Leather Coasters $35

Any NFL loving dad will appreciate these coasters made from the same leather used for official NFL footballs. It is produced by Horween, the famous Chicago tannery that is the exclusive supplier for this specific leather.

Moka Cam: The World’s Smallest 4K Camera $159

Thanks to crowdsourcing via IndieGoGo, this little camera packed with a big punch is now in its second generation. If your dad is into video filming, check out the smallest 4K camera in the world! The simple design makes it fool-proof for those fathers who may not be as tech-savvy as you.

Cinnamon Whiskey Infusion Spices $15

This is a fun way to create an organic fireball. An all-natural, handmade spice infusion will add a kick to any whiskey loving dad’s spirit.

BioLuna (Bioluminescent) Sphere Aquarium $60

Check out this unique conversation piece that will add a little science to dad’s decor. This bioluminescent aquarium is filled with plankton that produce a vivid blue light when disturbed in the dark!

PhoneSoap Smartphone and Tablet Sanitizer $50

I’d say this is for the germaphobic dad, but frankly, any person with common sense will appreciate this invention. This is the first cell phone charger that cleans your phone while it charges. It does this by producing light that sends a specific wavelength to kill bacteria and viruses without damaging your phone.

Pi Therom Rocks Glass $14

The UncommonGreen makes Bareware engraved with maps and smart stuff. Check out their molecular champagne flutes and constellation wine glasses while you’re over there.

Dashbon Mobile Cordless Boombox Projector $599

This cordless projector boombox is the first of its kind, and the quality in unparalleled. You can have up to eight hours of projected media entertainment ANYWHERE you’d like. The possibilities are endless and so, so fun!

Working Man’s Hygiene Kit $50

Women aren’t the only ones who like to feel like they have freshly exited a day spa. This all-natural kit will keep even the manliest man working with his hands both smooth and moisturized.

Ironate Stovetop Pizza Cooker $144

For all the pizzas loving dads out there, cook pizza on your stovetop (or over a hot fire when camping) in three minutes! Frozen pizzas even work wonders with this ingenious contraption!

Broilmaster R3b Infared Grill $1500

Voted top infared grill, this barbecue cooks evenly, creates a juicier piece of meat, and gives you those special grill marks that are worthy of a glamour shot. Yes, it is pricey, but rather than getting those tiny cheap grills on so many lists, this is for someone who has been saving up to do something special. (If dad already has a barbecue and this is out of your budget, check out some awesome grill accessories.)

Handcrafted Beer Making Kit $79

Handcrafted from rustic pine, this compact and clever design gives you all the basics to get brewing one gallon of tasty beer (about 10 bottles), including a set of 4 five ounce sampler glasses and coasters so dad can share.

Rugged Reusable Eco Lunch Bag $29

This durable, chemical free, waxed canvas lunch bag is stylish and eco-friendly and leak resistant. The Beeswax blend is natural, antibacterial and makes dad’s lunch bag waterproof thanks to the canvas and wax construction.

Whiskey Barrel Smoking Chips $8

Made from 100% real retired American white oak whiskey barrels, these chips will add flavor to any backyard smoke out!

Southern Country 2 in 1 Electric Grill/Smoker $90

Rather than a mini barbecue, a mini smoker is more practical and will likely be used more often. This Father’s Day give dad the perfect excuse for upping his grill game. Smoke anything you can think of with this easy-to-use grill/smoker. All you need is  add your favorite marinated meat, wood chips (see above), and water for the perfect smoked meal.

Keyport Slide 3.0

Okay, now we are going deep into dad territory. They call this device the “smartphone” of everyday carry tools, as it holds everything you need in one multi-tool. I was a little skeptical of how well this would go over for Father’s Day, but I have shown this to multiple men of various ages and they have all been enthusiastic about this device (one guy even purchased through his phone minutes after our conversation). It’s the dad-est thing on this list.

Smartphone Projector $32

This fun little projector magnifies your phone’s screen up to 8 times!
