Ways To Radically Change Your Work Week

Written by:  Jamie

Sometimes we easily fall into a pattern or rut that we can’t get out of.  We need to mix it up and give our mind and spirit a recharge.  You might feel like you are going through the motions and simply moving through each day without inspiration or motivation.  Try these simple steps to give you a pep and new vigor in your work week.  You’ll at least feel better and have perhaps more time to enjoy the things that you like outside of work.

Get Enough Quality Sleep

Sleep plays an in key role in our overall quality of well-being, and we should ensure that we have enough sleep each night. The recommended amount of sleep for any individual averages at 7 hours each night, with 8 being ideal. Sleep helps us to rest the body and mind. Sleep deprivation is one of the leading causes of poor health, and it can also compromise your overall wellness. Having a good night of sleep goes beyond just feeling well rested.  You will have clarity, better cognitive skills, and an overall better disposition when you are taking care of yourself with this simple change.  To get the best night of sleep, be comfortable and treat yourself to the best sheets that you can find.

Practice Mindfulness, Mental Wellness and Physical Activity

Besides getting enough sleep, another important suggestion is to try wellness classes. Techniques such as meditation and yoga play a significant role in our overall wellbeing. Meditation helps us to reduce stress and to become more focused when it comes to achieving our goals.

Regular exercise also helps us to eliminate any toxins and harmful chemicals in the body which may compromise our overall health. Yoga is a form of physical activity that is meant to help one to achieve various fitness goals and to experience an improved sense of well-being.

Eat Whole Foods

Eating healthy food will play a vital role in your cell functions and how your body responds to stress and outside factors. If you find yourself on the go too much, try a meal on the go.  Smoothies and shakes provide great nutrition in a convenient way that will allow you to avoid skipping meals.  Meal prepping and planning also will give you a better shot at proper nutrition through out the week.

Start Each Day Off Right

You should also consider engaging in self-motivating activities each morning before starting your day. There are various techniques that reinforce positivity and get you in the right mindset.  Write down self-affirmations and quotations that inspire you, then repeat one or two of them at the beginning of each day.

Schedule

Using a schedule is highly important since it lets you structure your time and your activities as well. A good schedule documents your how you will use time and the specific activities that you will be doing as well. This is an important aspect of time management, especially if you are a working professional or have other people to consider in your life.  If you manage your time, you have less likelihood of being controlled by it.

You may have just fallen off track, or you may just feel like you need to get back on track.  Either way, being in state of the doldrums can happen to all of us.  Small modifications like these listed can yield big results if you stick with it.
