We probably all wish we had a huge budget for home renovations. That way we could reorganize, rip-out, and reupholster until our perfect vision was achieved. Sadly for the vast majority of us, our budget for home improvements is all about saving rather than splurging. Our homes should be our pride and job. They’re where we socialize, cook, catch up, and rest. Make sure your’s is a home you can be proud of and relax in with your family. Here are some ways to spruce up your home on a budget…
In The Garden

First things first, move the lawn regularly. Healthy new grass needs to come through and a patchy lawn doesn’t look great. You may need to invest in some weed killer too. A garden can be a really transformative aspect of a house, but it can also be overlooked. It’s a huge space that should be made the most of. No matter how small or big tend to your garden.
Once you’ve mowed the grass and pulled up any weeds you can be a little more creative. Take your garden from neat to beautiful with some garden ornaments and flowers. You don’t have to be a seasoned gardener to be able to plant a few flowers and create a flower bed. Similarly, some ornaments from a garden center will give your garden some character. If you have young kids who use the outside for sports, scrap the flowers and ornaments! Instead, invest in some cheap garden furniture, so the whole family can enjoy the garden together.
In The Hallway

The hallways or entrance space will give guests their first glimpse of your home. This is usually a small space so won’t take much to update.
Start with your front door. Buying a new knocker and putting a fresh coat of paint on it is a good first step. Continue the welcoming feel by hanging a painting or picture in your hallways. This doesn’t have to be expensive. It could be a framed photo or one of your kid’s pieces of artwork. Make sure you have a lampshade in the hallway too. If you don’t have a light get a lamp to sit on a table. You don’t want this space to be dark and cold. A rug or doormat is another good way to add some warmth and homeliness to this area of the house.
In The Living Room

This is probably the room in the house where you’ll socialize when you have friends over. It’s also an area to hang out with family. It can be expensive to replace carpets so instead hire a cleaning services company. Most domestic vacuums only pick up a fraction of first. A professional company will be able to remove dirt and stains, giving the appearance of a brand new carpet.
