It is with a heavy heart that we bring you the news we were just given from South Africa.
We were hosted in South Africa by the More family. Nick, the eldest brother was CEO of Lion Sands Game Reserve and he and his brother, Rob, ran Lion Sands and the other resorts at which we stayed.
Tragically, Nick was killed yesterday in a helicopter crash.
The More family, from our first interaction with them almost two years ago, showed their kindness and open hearts to us. They are the real deal. I never met Nick in person, but I spent time with people who worked for and with him at each property, as well as his brother, Rob, and according to other people he was an extremely caring and genuine person.
Brian and I were just discussing Nick and Rob a couple of days ago. We were talking about how special the family is. They welcomed us with open arms into places we couldn’t have dreamed existed if we hadn’t seen them with our own eyes. Even with the clear success of their business, the family is kind, loving, and down-to-earth.
We ask that you keep the More family in your thoughts and prayers.
Nick and the More family support Henna Pre-School in Huntington, South Africa. It was at Henna Pre-School that I met with mothers who brought their babies to work, learned about how the pre-school respects the opinions of children, and saw true devotion and dedication of one another.
