Trendy ways to decorate your children’s bedroom

Written by:  Jamie

Whether it’s a compact room for a toddler, or a larger space for a teenager, decorating a bedroom for your child is always a fun prospect.

So why not treat them to a bedroom that takes in some of the coolest interior design trends like the abstract backdrops to make sure that their space is as stylish as it is chaotic!

One design classic that’s not going to go away anytime soon is the nautical look. With its clean and crisp colour palette of whites, blues and a touch of red, it’s easy to implement and refreshingly gender-neutral. You can get nautical themed decors from Uniquely Coastal.

What really makes this look work in this Parisian child’s bedroom is the way that the bold reds and blues really burst out from the white walls and soft wooden floors to create a dramatic and stylish effect.

Of course, children’s bedrooms are one of the few rooms of your home where you can afford to try out some colour schemes that are a little bolder than normal.

These bright and colourful bedroom designs above show what can be created if you’re willing to implement cheerful wallpapers with some unusually patterned soft furnishings.

Of course, it’s also important to think about how to keep things relatively simple to cater to the changes in your child’s aesthetic tastes.

So rather than dedicating the entire room to your little one’s favourite pop star, think about how to revamp the room in simple ways. Whether this means picking a neutral colour scheme, choosing some future-proof storage items, or even ordering in a next day delivery bed from Bedstar to save yourself a headache down the line, it’ll all go a long way to providing a simple and chic bedroom for your child.

It’s also worth thinking about what the year’s on-trend colours are. And it seems that green is everywhere in 2017, so think about how you can implement fashionable tones of olive, teal and racing green into your child’s bedroom.

Not only is green a trendy colour at the moment, but it also lends itself to being used as a backdrop to sport or even animal themes that are often a child’s favourite preoccupations of the moment!

So with everything from a quick lick of paint to a next day delivery bed giving us simple ways to provide a trendy bedroom for our kids, it’ll provide plenty of inspiration for us parents to eventually revamp our own bedrooms too!
