Travelling To A Foreign Country? Here’s How To Watch Your Favorite Shows

Written by:  Jamie

No one wants to miss an episode of their favorite tv show, especially if they watch them the very same day that it comes out. Because of streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, having access to some of the widest tv shows has never been easier. But if you are someone who is constantly on the move, and traveling a lot, keeping up with these tv shows can be a hassle. Most of these sites are location locked for security reasons and so that people in different parts of the world can’t misuse them. Hulu, for example, is only available to citizens of the United States, even if you have an account with them, and are just traveling for the time being.

So what does one do in this situation?

Missing your favorite shows is not an option. A simple look at your Facebook or Twitter will fill your feed with spoilers, especially if the show you watch is immensely popular. No one likes being the last one to get to know about a new episode, and the way to ensure that that doesn’t happen is through a VPN.

VPNs are some of the handiest tools that can help you bypass the locational restrictions that you have on the sites that you stream from. They work in an extremely simple way and will give you access to all the popular sites that you may use. You won’t have any restrictions, and it will be as if you are browsing from home itself. Even if you want to watch international shows that stream only on location bound foreign websites, you can quickly do so by using a VPN.

So how does a VPN work?

In simple words, a VPN is an encrypted line that takes your current connection and channels it through the connection of another country or location. For example, if you are using an internet connection in France, by using a VPN, you can reroute your connection to the United States. The site on the receiving end won’t be able to see where initially the connection was coming from, but only the location of the received packets, which in this case, would point towards the United States.

If you are using a VPN, it is always advised to use one from a trusted source. VPN services like ExpressVPN are known to be incredibly good and offer a good range of services, all while performing the main task of rerouting your location well. It is always advised to read the reviews of a VPN site to know for sure if what they offer is good or not. If you skip out on this step, you may end up using a VPN that doesn’t do its job well, and you might have to skip all your favorite tv shows during your stay in a foreign country.

VPNs aren’t as complicated as they are made out to seem. They aren’t just for the tech junkies but also for common users who want to keep track of their shows without missing a thing!
