Top 5 Reasons You Should Have a Blog

Here are the top five reasons that you should be blogging:

1. Blogging Friends!

I have met some of my very best friends through blogging.  The Beverly Hills Mom, I Love Purple More Than You, and The Woman Formerly Known as Beautiful are three of my very best *real life* friends in the world I would have never met if I didn’t start this blog. I have met countless other people through blogging that have been a huge support system and have become such a blessing in my life.

2. Stay Connected to *Real Life* Friends

I’ve connected to various college and high school classmates I would probably have lost communication with if I didn’t know they had personal blogs, or they didn’t know I had mine. It is also a great way to keep family members and friends informed on the daily ramblings of life.

3. You Have an Opinion

Like noses, everyone has one. Share yours!

4. You Care What People Think of You

You shouldn’t, and there is no way of desensitizing yourself to other’s negative judgments than to speak your mind and let the peanut gallery chime in. I’ll admit that was a little scary at first, but through blogging I’ve come to face comments in the blogging world as “It isn’t me, it’s you.” People have many reasons for lashing out or criticizing everything, and generally, it has nothing to do with you personally. You will be stronger for being able to voice your opinion, even if you know you will be criticized for it.

5. You want to give back.

Use your creativity and opinion for good and monetize your blog. You can sell ads or use a blog advertisement program like Blogher and donate your revenue to a cause you believe in. You can also link to causes you support and promote organizations that are close to your heart.
