Top 5 baby nests

Written by:  Jamie

Baby nests, or also known as baby pods are the safest and comfiest place for a toddler to have a good night’s sleep. They are essentially the softest mattresses with padded sides and a narrow sleeping area for your baby to sleep. Not only this, but these baby nests are also portable hence, making them a perfect place for the baby to nap anywhere and at any time of the day. Evidence and research has shown that these baby nests are in fact very safe for a baby or toddler.

However, experts have given a precautionary warning stating that children under the age of 1 should be under the supervision of an adult while in baby nests. It is also recommended by the experts to make sure that the following precautionary measures are being taken:

  • The mattress of the baby nest should be soft yet, firm enough to support the baby or a toddler. Mattresses that are too soft can cause SIDS which stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome which is an unexplained form of death in a crib or a cot.
  • Never leave the baby or even a toddler unsupervised in the baby nest.
  • Make sure that the baby is not overheated since, baby nests are narrow with padded sides.

Given below are the top 5 baby nests that you will not regret investing in:

  • La Millou babynest:

The baby nests by the La Millou brand are the best in the game. They are soft yet, firm cocoons where your baby can have a peaceful nap for long hours. This cocoon like wrap mattress will not only provide your baby with comfort but, will also keep the baby protected and safe. Through this portable and efficient mattress, you can take your baby anywhere and enjoy your day while your baby takes a peaceful nap. The only con regarding the La Millou baby nest is that they are a bit on the pricier side but, it is worth it for your child’s comfort and safety.

  • Sleepyhead Deluxe Pod:

These baby nests come in various eye catching and beautiful patterns. They are perfect for babies who fall within the age limit of 6 to 8 months. However, it is not recommended for unsupervised nap times or for sleeping overnight. It is designed in a way that it is cosy and breathable at the same time and the fabric used is completely hypoallergenic.

  • Moba Moses Basket:

The suitable age range for this baby nest is from the time the baby is born till the time when the baby is 9 kg. It can be used for an overnight sleep and is also suitable to leave your baby unsupervised for a longer time as it is not as narrow as other baby nests. The Moba Moses Basket is made with plastic with tiny holes which makes the baby nest airy and prevents it from suffocating the baby. Hence, there are less chances of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This also makes it very easy to clean as you only have to wipe it with a cloth.

  • PurFlo Breathable Nest:

This baby nest is suitable for babies up to the age of 4 to 6 months. It is not suitable for unsupervised naps or for letting the baby sleep in it overnight. The is reason is that although it is breathable, it is not safe because the padded sides are not high enough to prevent the baby from falling.

  • Snuggle Nest:

The Snuggle Nest is easily available online and is suitable for new born babies till the time they are 4 months old. This comfortable baby nest is a great alternative for other expensive baby nests. It is comfortable, portable and breathable but still it is better if you do not leave your baby unsupervised for longer time periods.
