In today’s busy schedules, people don’t often get the time for themselves and to be with their loved ones. But science says that you must take out some time to chill and relax with your friends and family.
Doing so does not only help you reconnect with each other but also allows you to relax and feel better.
A picnic does not have to be a big event; you can just go out to your favorite park and have a nice evening. However, even this would require at least a bit of planning.
But do not let that intimidate you. Picnics are easy to plan. Just have a look at our small guide here:
Decide a Location
The initial step in planning a picnic is to decide where you’re headed to.
You can go to any place–your favorite park or maybe the beach. It all depends on the moods and tastes of everyone involved.
A few factors to remember when selecting a location are:
- The weather conditions (for example, a beach is a big no during winters),
- The distance to reach the location (if it takes hours, it might not necessarily be a good idea), and
- The popularity of the spot (whether you prefer a picnic point with a large number of people or a location just for your group).
You must also search about the place in advance to know what all it has to offer. For example, this St. George Island Guide covers all that you can do on the island. Most picnic spots offer similar guides to help you plan a picnic.
Decide Whom to Invite
When it comes to picnics, the rule is – the more the merrier. See who all you wish to invite and give them a call.
Coordinating with everyone can be difficult so make sure to make a list of everyone you are inviting. Also remember that you will have to plan based on the number of people. For example, if the venue required prior reservations, then you must know how many people you’re taking there.
Create a List of Things You’ll Need and Carry ‘em All
One of the best ways to know that you have everything before you step your foot outside the door is to create a checklist. So create a list including all the necessary items such as utensils, towels and paper towels, blankets, backpack or a picnic basket, sunscreen, and drinking water.
Moreover, if the venue allows then you can also carry your JUUL starter kit to chill and enjoy the view. For kids, you may also carry toys.
Food Items
Once you have decided the picnic spot and the people you want to go with, then your focus should be on the most important and vital complement for a picnic, that is the food items.
You can dine out if your location has a nice and affordable eatery. However, not everyone may like the idea, so make sure to prepare a food basket and include foods that are delicious and easy to carry. These include fruits, sandwiches and donuts.
