I am so happy the weekend is rapidly approaching! We have a jam-packed schedule of fun things going on this weekend so the entire family is ready to let the festivities begin.
I wrote the other day about Samuel feeling a little left out about not losing a tooth yet, when Aram had just lost his first one. He prayed that night that he would also lose a tooth. I had to reassure him it would happen when the time was right. He said he knew, but he still wanted to pray about his teeth.
A day later, we had to take him to the dentist when a cyst formed over a tooth we had been keeping an eye on with his doctor since around the time he came home a couple years ago. It needed to be pulled. I have never seen a more excited face.
And then two days later he got his first truly loose baby tooth- the same one Aram had lost.
I asked him if he was surprised that all these teeth are now coming out. He said no. He was supposed to lose his teeth. I asked him what he thought about his prayer for his teeth. He said, “Praying for my teeth isn’t really about my teeth, mommy…”
Preach it.
And now some links from this week-
Martin Schoeller (photographer of our Time shoot) reveals The Changing Face of America. (We’ve become a country where race is no longer so black or white.)
Speaking of the Time Cover- the awesome people at PDN interviewed me for People in Front of the Lens.
Have you seen the new way to transport a donor heart? Check out Heart in a Box– It is truly amazing to watch it beat alone.
This man explains how as a teenager his reaction to his abusive father gave him the gift of nonviolence. (Awesome- tear-jerker…)
