Barb William, a teacher at Riverdale Schools in Hancock County, Ohio, was suspended for just 10 days after surveillance footage revealed that Williams had stopped a child exiting a restroom, pinned him against a wall, picked him up by his shirt, and grabbed the child’s face. During this time, it was reported that the teacher was yelling “I’m sick of you,” “I’m sick of your parents,” and “I will rip you apart” to the kindergarten student.
Anthony and Autumn Nelson, parents of the six-year-old in the video told ABC News that that the incident caused bruising on the back of their son’s head. The Nelsons have opted to bring this evidence to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and plan on pursuing criminal charges against Williams.
The family also has been very vocal about their outrage over the light sentence given to Williams. They demand that she be terminated rather than be given an early start on summer vacation. (There are exactly 10 days left in the school year.)
