A health unit in the Grey Bruce Region of Ontario, Canada has put together a Breastfeeding Friendly business toolkit. This kit is designed to help businesses and organizations with strategies and resources to support their customers as well as their employees. This is great timing as just this summer a local restaurant asked a nursing mom, who was waiting on a friend, to leave their premises, in direct defiance of Ontario’s Human Rights Code.

A new photo series from the Pediatric Society of Rio Grande (SPRS) is stirring up controversy and for good reason. What they claim is an attempt to encourage new moms to eat healthy actually comes off as shaming and guilting and encouraging moms to stop breastfeeding if they aren’t eating perfectly.

So much of breastfeeding success is tied to having education at the outset as well as finding support once you begin to feed your baby.
