The ad features a young girl with leg braces, dressed as Frozen’s Elsa. A simple move by Target has meant so much to so many parents and kids. This week Frito-Lay launched Doritos Rainbows. It’s a limited edition version of the chips to raise money for the “It Gets Better” campaign. Gay and Bisexual youth are 4 times more likely, and questioning youth are 3 times more likely, to attempt suicide as their straight peers. Let’s just crown Mike Melgaard the king of trolling right now. Since the announcement of the end of gender signage in Target their facebook page has been full of people’s opinions. Mike decided to create the “Ask ForHelp” account, using the Target logo to troll the negative comments.

As we told you last week, Target has started removing unnecessary gendering in their stores (mainly on toys and entertainment). While they have heard from many presents on this issue over the years, it seems one tweet may have forced Target to take notice and fix its gender signage.

Today, on their website, Target announced that their toy section will no longer have gender specific signage. Customers have been asking for this for quite some time and Target has finally listened.
While their stores won’t be completely free of gender division it is a huge step. They have said their clothing will still have gender-based signage but that they recognize toys, home or entertainment products do not need to be separated by gender.

Earlier this month Target’s company breastfeeding policy was released. It outlines how employees should handle and interact with nursing mothers in their stores.
It contains a few key points
– That customers can breastfeeding openly in any area of their stores.
– That if a customer would like to nurse in a fitting room they are to be given priority over others who are waiting.
