‘Kid President’ talks about extended breastfeeding and it’s awesome!

Kid president is at it again with his adorable charm and wise words. He recently created a short for Mother’s Day about supporting mothers. He pointed out that in our society it’s common and somewhat accepted for mothers to shame their peers based on their parenting choices.

In his segment Kid president dons a ridiculous wig and reveals the character of a judgmental mother.

Breastfeeding Mom Feels the Bern

We are well aware that breastfeeding in public has the ability to ignite a debate these days. However, that didn’t extinguish one mother’s enthusiasm while nursing her baby and supporting her favorite candidate.

Elle Bradford got fired up while at a rally in support of Berie Sanders in Barberton, Ohio recently. While she was feeling the Bern her 6 month old’s hunger was sparked. Bradford put out the fire just in time as she openly nursed her daughter during … Keep Reading!!!

Haylie Duff puts postpartum weight loss in perspective and chooses breastfeeding

We live in an era where how you look is everything, especially in Hollywood. The pressure for a new mom to “bounce back” immediately after birth is ridiculous. Haylie Duff was not immune to feeling the pressure but came out this week to say that working on her body wasn’t near as important as breastfeeding her daughter.

Haylie gave birth to her daughter, Ryan Eva, 9-months-ago and says she still doesn’t feel like she “looks amazing”. But rather than allow … Keep Reading!!!

Regional health unit offers breastfeeding toolkit to local businesses

A health unit in the Grey Bruce Region of Ontario, Canada has put together a Breastfeeding Friendly business toolkit. This kit is designed to help businesses and organizations with strategies and resources to support their customers as well as their employees. This is great timing as just this summer a local restaurant asked a nursing mom, who was waiting on a friend, to leave their premises, in direct defiance of Ontario’s Human Rights Code.

Mother of Three Recieves Help from Strangers While in the ER with Her New Baby

When 27-year-old Kaylee Goemans received a call from her doctor that she needed to take her 6 week old son, Dominic, to the ER because of complications with an intestinal disorder, she rushed right in. Having lost her job when 28 weeks pregnant, making it so she didn’t qualify for government maternity leave pay, she opted to park on the road. Paying $3 for 4 hours of parking, rather than $15 in the hospital lot. She thought, because the tests … Keep Reading!!!

Win a Beco Baby Carrier and 4 Tickets to Mommycon!

Hey, Mommycon fans!

On October 5th, I’ll be in Philadelphia for Mommycon, speaking with my good friend Suzie Barston for the I Support You Campaign. We’ll be focusing on the roadblocks in modern Western society that set us up for failure.

This talk focuses on the big picture in terms of what we need to back as a society (such as the Family Leave Act put forth by Senator Gillibrand). And of course, we’ll be discussing community-oriented support, as well.… Keep Reading!!!

Inspiringly Positive Toddler Walks on Prosthetic Leg for the First Time

Meet Kayden Kinckle. He was born with omphalocele, a birth defect in which abdominal organs have developed outside of the body. When Kayden was born, his umbilical cord so so severely wrapped around his legs and feet that it caused some deformity.

In order for Kayden to ever learn to walk, he would need to have his left leg and right foot amputated. The surgery was completed in January, and by July 4th Kayden was ready to take his first … Keep Reading!!!

My Response To TIME

I know it i has been awhile since I posted on here. I wanted to address my background story with the TIME cover, but not dwell on it.

Kellymom.com did a Q and A with the four mothers (myself included) that participated in the photo shoot. It explains what happened from our perspectives and is definitely worth a look:

You Asked. They Answered TIME’s AP Moms Take Your Questions

I believe that article says all I needed to say, so … Keep Reading!!!
