Eleven-year-old girl assists mom in her baby sister’s surprise delivery

Eleven-year-old Catilin Burke found herself acting as midwife for her baby sister’s birth, earlier this month. Her mother’s labor started as she was getting ready for school. Caitlin called an ambulance for her mom, Tara Knightley, but her little sister was in a hurry to meet her.

After having 6 boys the Lair family of North Carolina welcomed a baby girl to their family. Jackson, 13; Campbell, 10; Sawyer, 7; Houston, 5; Shepherd, 4; and Knox, 2 talk about how life will be different with a sister on their team now. 8-Year-Old Girl Helps Mom Deliver Baby Brother at Home

 

An 8-year-old Jazmine McEnaney from Tampa, Fla., girl helped deliver her baby brother at home while awaiting paramedics to arrive.

Krystle Garcia, Jazmine’s mother, had no signs of labor prior to her water breaking, but soon found herself in rapidly progressing labor.

The mother immediately realized this was an emergency situation and asked Jazmine to grab the cordless phone and dial 911.
