‘Pucker’ Photo Project Shows Children’s Reaction to Their First Taste of Lemon

Pucker is a collaborative photo project by David Wile and April Maciborka that documents the always epic first taste of lemon for children. Most of us have had that camera ready just waiting to see what kind of reaction our own kids give to their first lemon. As the project shows, there’s such a range of reactions but not one is lacking in cuteness.

Stunning Full Colour Photos from More than a Century Ago Surface

We tend to view the past in black and white. Because of this it makes it hard for us to truly connect to the past and to view those moments as real. The technology just wasn’t there to show us the world in colour, except for in one man’s home.

In 1913, electrical engineer Mervyn O’Gorman figured out a way to use potato starch to give his photos colour. The incredible photos were taken of his daughter, Christina, that year.… Keep Reading!!!

Photographer Ivette Ivans’ Breastfeeding Photo Project

Lithuanian born photographer Ivette Ivens has done a beautiful series on breastfeeding. The 25-year-old mother of 2, who now lives in Chicago, breastfed her son until he was 3 and has made it her mission to help normalize nursing in the American culture.

I nursed them both anywhere I wanted. From church to parties, from farmers market to high-end designer stores. I believe that mothers should nurse their little ones whenever they want to. Children know when it’s time to

Photographer Captures Expectant Couples in Early Morning Slumber

Between 2009 and 2012 Russian photographer, Jana Romanova, completed a photo-series featuring 40 pregnant Russian couples sleeping, one representing each week of pregnancy. She wanted to capture the most natural, vulnerable moment of the day for expectant parents. She started the project because her friends were all having babies and she was feeling left out, but not ready to have one on her own. Jana wants to fund a photo book for the series and recently hit her fund-raising … Keep Reading!!!

Sommayeh Mehri’s husband poured a bucket of acid over his wife and daughter Rana while they slept. Sommayeh is now fighting to keep her child feeling ‘normal’.

“[Sommayeh’s] main concern remains treatment for her daughter Rana. ‘She doesn’t understand yet what has happened to her,’ Mehri told an Iranian news agency. “That’s why she’s still playful and happy. But … Keep Reading!!!

This Post-Apocalytpic Cosplay Engagement Shoot is Awesome

Chris Love and Kara Kyser are putting your sunset engagement shots to shame….

After the couple got engaged at Comic Con, they went with the traditional approach and decided to have engagement photos taken…Only their photos would be anything but traditional.

These gamer/cosplayers came up with a post-apocalytic theme for their shoot photographed by Joshua Hoffine, which depicts the couple surviving a fallout on their wedding day. And while these photos are symbolic and oddly romantic, they couple seemed … Keep Reading!!!

8 Hilariously Relatable Photos of Realistic Parenting

“Capture the moment, because in the end, all we have are the memories…” –Danielle Guenther

Professional photographers have the amazing ability to capture idyllic family moments for us to share with our loved ones and display in our homes. The reason this is an incredible feat is because those picture perfect moments only last about .5 seconds when they happen…miss it and the moment is gone forever.

Danielle Guenther is a photographer who specializes in child and family … Keep Reading!!!

“Blended”- Photographer Beautifully Documents Transracial Adoption of Nephew

By Kate Parker

“Blended” has followed the journey of Sam, my nephew, from the day he was born and adopted into the unbelievably excited arms of my sister and brother in law as well as the rest of our extended family. We are so in love with this amazing little man who has brought such joy into our lives. There are so many wonderful and interesting things I am documenting, the power of love, the agonizing wait (and then elation) … Keep Reading!!!

The Sacredness of Birth

Images and text by Jennifer Murdock.

I have had a renewed inspiration to speak about Maternity Photographs.

My birth was very special, and probably not what most women experience for themselves, in a society of fear and one that does not honor the power and strength of being a woman. I am not bragging about this time in my life, I just want to communicate it, in the hopes of creating a opening for the possibilities that do exist.… Keep Reading!!!

Photographer Captures Images of Dads at a One Direction Concert

Dads at a One Direction concert. Need we say more?

d1

Angelina Castillo, photographer for the Nashville Scene, captured images of fathers who either willingly or unwilling ended up at the concert with their daughters.

d3

Regardless or how they felt about the show, these dads are winners in my book. Surrounded by a bunch of teeny-boppers screaming, there they sit…all for their children. This is love, people.

Does this Fashion Spread Glamorize the New Delhi Rape?

India has made international news in the past two years due to an increase in violent sexual assaults among women. (Or perhaps the media is just finally taking notice.)

So, when a Mumbai-based photographer Raj Shetye recently released images from a photo shoot, which depicted an eerily similar scene to that of the Delhi gang rape and murder, it came as no surprise that the public reaction was mostly outrage.

Just like the atrocious 2012 crime, a young woman is … Keep Reading!!!
