Photo series shows how women arm themselves every day to feel safe

We live in a world where rape culture exists. I said it! No pussy footing around it. And women are victims. Too often women are scoffed at when they bring this up. “Not all men” they say. “Don’t drink so much” they warn. “Stop dressing like a slut” they judge.

We need to look no further than this photo project to show that women constantly feel scared, and this will not change until the culture does. These women were given … Keep Reading!!!

Photographer takes breastfeeding photos to a real, raw, and beautiful place

Photographer Suzie Blake wanted to do a photo project that showed the realities of what day to day breastfeeding looks like. Suzie started with a self-portrait of an over tired-mom and reached out on Facebook looking for other moms to participate.

This project is about portraying breastfeeding in all its beautiful messiness. This is about tired eyes and no makeup. This is about

Ahmad, 7, in Horgos, Hungary

“Even sleep is not a free zone; it is then that the terror replays. Ahmad was home when the bomb hit his family’s house in Idlib. Shrapnel hit him in the head, but he survived. His younger brother did not. The family had lived with war as their nearest neighbor for several years, but without a home they had no choice. They were forced to flee. Now Ahmad lies among thousands of other refugees on … Keep Reading!!!

Dad asks daughter to accompany him to daddy-daughter dance in the sweetest ‘dance-posal’ you’ll ever see

Single dad Jason Garmon had a special surprise for daughter, Skylar. With a daddy daughter dance approaching he knew he needed to ask her permission to escort her, but he also wanted to make it a special moment for her.

Just because I’m her Dad doesn’t mean I’m going to assume she’ll go with me. You ask out a lady like it’s the first time every time. Always keep her guessing, always try to win her. I don’t care if

‘We are not “still” nursing, we are just nursing’

Standing in front of the mirror, right after a shower, seeing your every imperfection staring back at you from the fog covered glass. We’ve all done this. Just stood there wishing we could change this and that. Our bodies do so much for us and demonstrate immeasurable strength. Yet we spend so much time thinking about how we can look better, rather than celebrating who we are. While there are often outside pressures from media and other women, we tend … Keep Reading!!!
