Woman admits to having sex with her husband while breastfeeding their baby

A now removed blog post about breastfeeding has caused controversy, this weekend. More than the normal “I don’t want to see boobs” controversy. This time the mother in question says she often has sex while breastfeeding and authorities are now investigating her and considering pressing charges for pedophilia.

When police officers in Columbia got a call about a baby left in the woods Luisa Fernanda Urrea was one of the officers dispatched to the scene. They found a newborn girl crying in the undergrowth, with part of her umbilical cord still attached. The baby was hungry and at risk of hypothermia so Urrea, being a new mom herself, quickly swaddled and began nursing her.

Female lawmaker harassed with crude messages from male colleagues over opposition to public nudity bill

State Rep. Amanda Bouldin (D) took to Facebook to express her opposition to a proposed bill in New Hampshire that would make it a misdemeanor for a woman to expose her nipples. Bouldin strongly recommends the bill be completely scrapped, or at the very least an exemption for breastfeeding mothers be added.

The very least you could do is protect a mother’s right to FEED her child.

Halfway through her pregnancy Sarah Whitney was diagnosed with breast cancer. A health unit in the Grey Bruce Region of Ontario, Canada has put together a Breastfeeding Friendly business toolkit. This kit is designed to help businesses and organizations with strategies and resources to support their customers as well as their employees. This is great timing as just this summer a local restaurant asked a nursing mom, who was waiting on a friend, to leave their premises, in direct defiance of Ontario’s Human Rights Code.
