A judge sentenced a South Carolina woman to 20 years in prison Friday for killing her six-week-old daughter. The prosecutors argued that she overdosed her daughter with lethal amounts of morphine through her breastmilk.
A jury found former nurse Stephanie Greene, 39, guilty of homicide by child abuse just one day earlier. Greene could have faced up to life behind bars, but was given 20 years.

Police Dog Shot in the Line of Duty Reunited with Partner
Bruno, a police dog for the Anaheim Police Department, was shot in face in the line of duty last week.
Police officers were responded to a call near an apartment complex. They were looking for a suspect evading arrest, and brought in the K-9 unit to aid in their search.

Girl Banned from School after Shaving Head to Support Friend with Cancer
A nine-year-old, Kamryn Redfro, shaved her head to support her best friend, Delaney Clements, who is fighting cancer.
Delaney had started chemotherapy, and said that Kamryn’s gesture made her feel “special” and “not alone.”

2-Year-Old Injured by Razor Blades Glued to Playground Equipment
KWQC reported that a 2-year-old child was injured Monday by razor blades that had been glued to playground equipment in an East Moline park.
The police found 12 razors blades at the park where the child was injured.
Authorities searched surrounding parks for razor blades, but did not find any. Therefore, they believe this was an isolated incident.
Unfortunately, the police have not apprehended anyone for this crime and they currently have no suspects.
