Madrid’s Museo el Prado currently have an exhibit called “Touching the Prado”. Geared towards the visually impaired, the exhibit includes 3D printings of some of the world’s most famous works of art by artists like Velázquez, Goya and Da Vinci.
The museum has also included texts in Braille, audio guides (which now includes detailed descriptions of 53 works of art in their permanent collection) and glasses for fully sighted visitors to help them experience what it is like … Keep Reading!!!
I have been reluctant to bring the boys to The Getty because I did not feel they were quite old enough for the experience. However, my views have changed. My friend Alexandra and decided to brave The Getty with our preschool-aged children.
Admittedly, we did not make it into the building. However, we bought snacks and spent hours in the gardens. What a beautiful and inspiring place for children. It is like Alice in Wonderland.
