DIY: Mold Fossil Shadow Box

Oh, fossils…you never cease to fascinate me. Luckily, my kids are equally enamored with the petrified remains.

One of our lessons has been on the different types of fossils. We first watched this awesome episode of Bill Nye:

 

Then, we started our sea shell mold fossil shadow box.

  • Air-Dry Clay

Homeschooling Project: Ocean Zones and Sea Life

Most children are introduced to marine life studies between 4 and 6 years of age. This is also a perfect time to introduce basic ocean science!

I saw this ocean zone project by KC Edventures and decided to try it out using a slightly modified version.

What you will need:
