Photographer Suzie Blake wanted to do a photo project that showed the realities of what day to day breastfeeding looks like. She stripped away the make-up, the fancy hair, and the pretty backdrops to get real and raw. Halfway through her pregnancy Sarah Whitney was diagnosed with breast cancer. At just 31-years-old the news filled her family with grief, but still expecting a new member brought joy to them and their 2 children, 6-year-old Pheonix and 7-year-old Corah and so there was a constant mix of emotion in the Whitney home.

Whitney Walters wanted to put together a scrapbook of her 6-year-old daughter. She sent her pictures off to Walmart, but when she arrived to pick them up they told her multiple photos of hers were indecent and would not be printed. The indecent act? Breastfeeding her daughter. Aside from that vague comment they would not explain, specifically, why they could not print them. Public Relations for Walmart has not issued a statement.
