#BoobsForBernie is currently trending. What does that mean for the average American breastfeeder? It means a photo of a mother feeding her child is making national headlines. It means the people that have been working hard to normalize breastfeeding can smile today. A woman fed her child in public and wasn’t asked to leave or cover up; quite the opposite in fact. The encouragement in this instance has been abundant.

We are well aware that breastfeeding in public has the ability to ignite a debate these days. However, that didn’t extinguish one mother’s enthusiasm while nursing her baby and supporting her favorite candidate.
Elle Bradford got fired up while at a rally in support of Berie Sanders in Barberton, Ohio recently. While she was feeling the Bern her 6 month old’s hunger was sparked. Bradford put out the fire just in time as she openly nursed her daughter during … Keep Reading!!!
Even A-list moms can’t catch a break at the most glamorous night of the year. The Academy Awards have green rooms decked to the nines, rooms full of swag that are decorated beautifully, a red carpet matched by no other; but when a celebrity needs to go pump they are given the bathroom.
A few days ago we posted the Joey Salads video where he had a woman pretend to breastfeed in public, to see what the reactions would be. Joey has taken it a step further this time. A model in a low cut shirt sits right next to a breastfeeding mom. The people who stop to comment on the mom’s “indecency” are not expecting the confrontations that follow.
Here’s hoping this direct comparison opens some eyes and people can see their … Keep Reading!!!
Because no one knew how this would turn out; Joey Salads, best known for his “social experiment” and prank videos on Youtube, tackled public breastfeeding reactions in his newest video. Perhaps the results surprised him, but for most moms who’ve nursed in public it’s exactly what we expected. It just serves as another example of what nursing moms have to endure in public; the attempts to shame women for feeding their children.
Unfortunately, only a few comments later, on … Keep Reading!!!
When Rebecca, a mother of 3 from St. Catharines, Ontario, took her one year old to see Santa he got a little cranky waiting in line. When Ashley Kaidel‘s son got hungry, while they were at a restaurant, she did what mother’s do – she fed him. Of course, because she did so with your breasts people start staring. Rather than feel shamed she decided to stare right back. This is when her dining partner took a photo of her, a photo which she posted to Facebook along with a post about normalizing breastfeeding. The statement she made, both within her writing and her photo … Keep Reading!!!
Photographer Suzie Blake wanted to do a photo project that showed the realities of what day to day breastfeeding looks like. In August, BBC radio personality, Alex Dyke, took on breastfeeding as a topic for his show, and it didn’t end well. It started because a mother nursed her hungry baby, next to him, on a bus. It ended when he was suspended after his rant, which included comments about how “unnatural” breastfeeding was; about “earth mothers…the ones with moustaches” who breastfeed in public. He even included a warning to women that men don’t like to see breastfeeding and the … Keep Reading!!!
