When I started looking for ways to keep my dog (Charlie) contained in the back seat of my car, primary concerns were durability, cleanablity (is that a word?), and coverage area. My first thought was to go to PETCO and see what kind of options they had, but after some preliminary searches, I realized that Amazon had the Solvit 62314 Waterproof Hammock Seat Cover for Pets listed at half the price, with great reviews, and was available on Amazon Prime (2 day delivery included!).

Setting up hammock pet seat cover could not have been easier! The box is the size of a decent sized book and once opened the pet hammock unfolds quickly and easily. The color was true to the image online and the material feels to be of good quality and durability.
Once opened, you just place the hammock in the back seat with the pockets on the back side of the drivers seats. You will also notice the seat belt cut outs, which are also another great feature. They even notched the fabric to fit nicely around the side of the seat for a one size fits all approach.
Once in and aligned you will simply loop the straps around each of the head rest and tighten the straps. I would recommend leaving them loose, letting your dog sit in the car then tightening them to get them set correctly the first time.
After I installed the pet hammock seat cover the first thing I did was have Charlie (my dog) jump into the back seat. There was a little bit of slide when he landed on the seat but nothing that was enough concern, but you could always fasten the seatbelts to the seat to hold the hammock in place if needed.
Update: 2 Weeks Later
So far the Solvit 62314 Waterproof Hammock Seat Cover for Pets has held up great! My dog seems very comfortable in the hammock when the car is moving and even chooses the pet hammock over the back (bed of the SUV) with his bed in it.
The pet hammock is easily cleaned and the amount of dog hair it catches and keeps out my car’s carpet is very noticeable. I would highly recommend the Solvit 62314 Waterproof Hammock Seat Cover for Pets to anybody looking for a pet seat cover or pet hammock!
