Rapper Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway gives a shout out to ‘attachment parenting’ on his Instagram account

Written by:  Jamie

Hip hop artist Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway recently posted a photo on Instagram showing the Identified Time rapper holding his 4-year-old son on the set of his latest music video.

The caption of the photo gave a shout out to attachment parenting and fatherhood:

such a blessing to have my sweet boy come to my video shoot today !! #grateful #APHipHopDad

Since their son’s arrival, both parents have been vocal proponents of attachment parenting as well as advocates for the continued normalization of breastfeeding in western culture.

And on a side note… Is it just me or does it seem like present parenting has been infiltrating R&B and Hip Hop a lot recently? From George Moss’s post about cleaning out his wife’s breast pumps to Ashley Wright and baby Shannon starring in Raheem Devaughn’s music video “Queen” …and now with Souleye’s post, all of this unintentional/very organic imagery of parenting is helping normalize something in our culture that should have been considered normal long ago.

We’re loving it.
