During the past two months, Fayye Foundation staff members have been getting prepared for a complete overhaul.
We have been working with DSA Pays It Foward (our fiscal sponsor) for some time, but the separation of the two organizations seemed a bit pointless.
I stopped over in New York for a night on my way home from South Africa. I met up with Terry, founder of DSA Pays It Forward, and he offered us the chance to team up.
Jeannine of XOJ9 jumped on board as a new team member and away we went.

Los Angeles, CA – California non-profit Fayye Foundation has announced its intention to merge with Texas-based non-profit DSA Pays It Forward. Fayye Foundation’s founder, Jamie Grumet, indicated that the merger comes after a long history of collaboration towards common goals. The move will reduce overhead and enable more resources to be directed towards community projects.
Fayye Foundation’s main project in Ethiopia and DSA Pays It Forward’s main project in South Africa will continue to be the focus of the new team, which will change its name to Raise It Up and will be found at raiseitup.org. A new project benefiting a domestic community is also in the works. More information about this project is expected to be released in early-fall.

Fayye Foundation is no longer taking donations, but Raise It Up is accepting donations through DSA Pays It Forward, Waves for Water, or Awassa Children’s Project.
