This is a post by a contributor who will announce her pregnancy officially very shortly….
So, ya know how being pregnant makes you feel super sexy all the time?
Yeah, and like you could run a marathon every day and never take naps again?
I do not.
Being pregnant is so magical and special and important and wonderful…and also so awful.
I know; I should feel sexy even when I’m pregnant. But I don’t.
I know; I should revel in growing a person. I do a little.
Mostly, I just want to not feel sick for about 4 minutes straight.
I’m hoping it will be a little better when I get out of the first trimester. One thing that’ s helping me get excited about adding to the baby weight I feel I never quite got rid of last time is finding new maternity clothes.
I don’t think it’s a secret that new, cool, comfortable clothes make a big difference to self-image. I would never suggest building your entire self-confidence around your wardrobe, of course, but a healthy sense of your own style, I think, is great. Clothes do make a difference for me, especially because I’m not out of the first trimester and my non-maternity clothes are already starting to get tight…
So, when Disco Belly signed up for a review and giveaway with us (which means a great donation for Raise It Up), I was really excited. They have these adorable tees. I immediately loved this shirt:
I’ve never been anti-minivan anyway, but I am definitely considering it my destiny now. Time to face reality!
But then I saw their fruit series. You know how they say your baby is the size of a fruit at different stages? These shirts coordinate with the baby fruit sizes! (Incidentally, my baby is the size of a kidney bean right now. Very cute.) This is the one I chose:
Here’s what I love about Disco Belly:
- They are so, so, sweet. Small company – great people.
- The shirts are looooooong. I have a long torso and I know this will be plenty long throughout pregnancy. For the shorter torso – you might be able to make this a tunic! Luckies!
- The fabric is soft. I’ve always had a thing about soft fabrics. My mother and sister make fun of me for it. This fabric…mmm….it’s comfy.
Great news! Disco Belly is also giving a shirt to one reader. You’ll get the sea green Minivan Destiny t-shirt – a $25 value. This would also make a great baby shower gift to pamper Mommy a little bit, too.
