For the woman in your life – Gift ideas that have withstood the test of time

Shopping for your wife or girlfriend can be a challenge. You want to get her something that she will love, something that she will use, and something that really shows the thought that you put into the gift. This sounds like a tall order, doesn’t it? A lot of people feel pressured and stressed in their pursuit of that perfect present.

How often have you bought a gift for the woman in your life and thought, “Man, I hope she … Keep Reading!!!

Hunger Hits Home

My confession for the week:

I’ve ignored hunger in our country.

I’ve been so caught up in the famine ravaging east Africa, and all other areas of the world where people desperately need food.

It doesn’t mean we should ignore those places that need help now, but we can’t overlook the fact that there are children in our home country going hungry.

The Food Network is airing a documentary about child hunger in America.

Hunger Hits Home airs April 14 … Keep Reading!!!

Looking for debt consolidation? Guide your search with these helpful questions

Whenever it comes to financial problems such as debt and how to handle it, it can be hard to tell what exactly you’re supposed to do. Especially if you don’t have a lot of experience or knowledge when it comes to debt, it can all be very intimidating, not to mention frightening since there can be a great deal at stake. With that in mind, you might able to help your cause through the best debt consolidation. But that’s … Keep Reading!!!

My African Serval

I worked for years with a woman who researched exotic cats in order to qualify for a F&G license.

Then came Obi, the African Serval.

Obi came to us extremely small. He looked like a cross between a hyena and a molting bird.

He became fiercely protective of me almost immediately.

We had to walk him through a congested area in Beverly Hills once (vet specialist appointment). When we were walking we ended up being mobbed by curious people. It … Keep Reading!!!

Will an Unpopular Name Harm Your Child?

Barack Hussein Obama was quoted at the Al Smith dinner saying, “I got my name from somebody who obviously didn’t think I’d ever run for president.”

Clearly, it didn’t stand in his way.

However, a study in 2009 concluded that boys with unpopular names are more likely to break the law:

“Also, adolescents with unpopular names may be more prone to crime because they are treated differently by their peers, making it more difficult for them to form relationships,”

How To Kill A Migraine

I have hormonal migraines monthly. I cannot relieve them with oral medication alone. This past year I’ve received invaluable migraine treatment information from a neurologist, a holistic doctor, and the Beverly Hills Mom.

Here are my secrets for migraine relief:

  1. Immediately take Advil Liquid Gelcaps with a can of Coke Zero. *It must be the brand Advil in gelcap form. Other Ibuprofen medication is composed of the same ingredients, but is less effective on migraines. *Coke Zero is

Young Marriage

I’ve noticed that it is socially acceptable to criticize or belittle marital unions of young people. I’m not really sure why. People will also give the explanation of youth as the reason why their first marriage failed. This could very well be true, for them. However, I want people to know that choosing to marry young is a very real and authentic choice.

I met Brian when I was 16 and he was 21. He was the first … Keep Reading!!!

The Idiot’s Guide to Klout

I’m the idiot, and here is my guide to Klout.

I signed up for Klout (having no clue what it was) because a friend told me to. Apparently, this is a common occurrence.

When I attempted to learn how Klout worked I came across complicated explanations, or posts dedicated to how much the writer hated it.

So, here is my dumbed down discovery of how Klout works:

Klout measures your social media influence. It has nothing to do with … Keep Reading!!!

Glamorous And Granola

I strive to live a life free of chemicals in my food, toiletries, and household products. For some reason, that qualifies me to be labeled a “hippie.”

Hippies make me think of bra-burning, mushroom ingesting, hairy (deodorant-free) armpitted women, who would vomit at the sight of anything that glitters.

I didn’t realize that there is a new wave of hippies popping up.

Glippies– Glamorous Hippies.

I am not alone!

In honor of this new-found sisterhood, here are some of … Keep Reading!!!
