Every year another Twilight movie is released and each time I announce it is going to be awful, and it pretty much is. Yet, I always end up at the midnight showing secretly hoping what I am about to see will be enjoyable. I always have a good time, and the movies have some sort of spell over me, but I am aware that they are not good at all. There was a bittersweet moment when it all ended.

Wisdom from the year:
As most of you know, we are working with Waves for Water on a clean water project to bring rural Argisa, Ethiopia much needed filters to create access to safe drinking water. We were recently updated on the severity of the water related diseases of the area. What we were told has made us realize that time is of the essence. We are now trying to bring 100 filters to the area as soon as possible to prevent any more … Keep Reading!!!
Dear Pre-child Jamie,
First off, no, your kids won’t be different. That is why that white linen couch purchase (as much as you tried to justify it) was a stupid idea. Within a year of being a mother that couch will be ruined by a huge stain made by an unidentified liquid. What is your current couch made out of? Microfiber- get familiar.
Scared of labor? Wasting your time worrying about that one…

We should always uplift and encourage our children, but let them be themselves! They will become something greater than what we could ever dream- exactly who they were created to be!
I wanted to take a moment to highlight a mother whom I personally admire, Lisa Leonard.
Lisa started her jewelry company, Lisa Leonard Designs, when her first son, was born.
Lisa and her husband have two beautiful children. Their oldest, David, was born with a rare condition, and it is amazing to see the warrior inside of each mother. The way she handled innocence and ignorance in this story brought tears to my eyes.… Keep Reading!!!
“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.”
The Thanksgiving that we all know and love is actually a 19th century creation. By the early twentieth century it was really established as what it is – a family gathering to celebrate blessings. The true history of Thanksgiving is a controversial topic in certain circles. I personally understand that it would feel belittling … Keep Reading!!!
Dr. Jay Gordon is a vegetarian that encourages a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. I am more of an omnivore, but I’ve learned so much from him about child nutrition and getting kids excited about eating healthy foods that I want to share some of it with you.
Teach her that fruit is the sweet.
A berry tastes incredibly sweet unless you have just eaten an Oreo cookie. Help your child appreciate the sweetness of fruit by limiting artificial sweets including … Keep Reading!!!
In many cases you can breastfeed your NICU baby. Certainly, pump your breastmilk until baby is able to latch. In some cases mom (or dad) can hold baby on her chest. For example, in cases of jaundice, place a bili-blanket underneath your baby on your chest and shine lights on both mom and baby. You may need to advocate with your doctors or nurses in order to be able to do this. Having regular consultations with a lactation consultant may … Keep Reading!!!
I love this photo of our group in Ethiopia back in September.
We had spent the day over with Sister Donna and it was the last day our entire group was all together (several left the following day).
The photo itself shows people from all walks of life. Having been there to see the differences in beliefs and personalities made it even more special. We looked different, had different backgrounds and life experiences, and yet here we all were together … Keep Reading!!!
The craziness in our house has been ramped up recently.
The holiday season means a lot of fun, but a ton of traveling for us. We are so excited to spend time with both sides of our families.
Once the holidays are over, we have a couple of weeks of rest before we leave on a trip to South Africa.
It is going to be a pretty special trip.
I was originally in contact with … Keep Reading!!!
