Neil deGrasse Tyson talks about raising scientifically literate children

Written by:  Jamie

By: A.M., IANtB Science Editor

In the coming weeks and months, I’m going to be talking about the science behind “attachment”-style parenting. As we go along, I will use the various parenting issues that we touch upon to illustrate how general scientific literacy can help parents make informed choices for their kids, and as well as how to raise scientifically literate children. My hope is not to tell you how to raise your kid, but rather to give you the tools to take all of the parenting advice and information that gets thrown at you, and put it into context in a way that gives you the clarity you need to be confident in your decisions.

Below is a rare personal moment where Neil deGrasse Tyson talks about raising scientifically literate kids. I apologize that the only clip I could find of this specific excerpt has an improperly formatted aspect ratio. Here is the entire interview (which is great, by the way), properly formatted.
