Written by:  Rex

If you’re busy browsing the travel brochures looking for a great vacation this year, then you’re in for a treat. There are plenty of wonderful places to see if you want to take a break. But even if you’re looking to clock up a few more miles as a traveler, you can’t go far wrong with a place like England. Not only is it an incredible place for a vacation, but there are some amazing things to see if you’re just passing through. Check out these must-see hotspots in England this year:

London

Nobody can arrive in England and not head straight for the capital! There is enough to see in London to keep you going for your entire stay. Some of the best talked-about attractions in the center of London include Buckingham Palace and Covent Garden. You can enjoy the spectacle of the Changing Of The Guard. Check out the website to see what times this happens. And Covent Garden is the place to hang out for street theater, weird and wonderful food and drink, as well as a range of quaint boutiques.

Lake District

The Lake District is nothing like London in any way! It is quiet, serene, and full of gorgeous landscapes like nowhere else on Earth. It’s hard to find any big chain stores or restaurants here. Accommodation choices are limited to campsites and Olde Worlde Bed and Breakfast houses. This means you really get to sample England at its best. Local people, local produce and beautiful scenery are all you need when you visit this part of England. Pack your wet weather gear, though!

Blackpool

On your way to or from the lakes, why not stop off at England’s best seaside resort? If you’re looking to vacation the English way, then Blackpool is the place to don your bathers. More and more people are spending their entire vacation here. When you visit Blackpool, you’ll find plenty to see and do for you and the whole family. There are amusement parks and arcades. There is also a beach and plenty of bars and restaurants. You also have a lot of choice for accommodation here. Caravans, camping, Bed and Breakfast, or even glamorous hotels can be found in Blackpool.

Yorkshire

Yorkshire is a county in the north of England that has the best of everything. You can find amazing walking trails and countryside to explore across the Moors. Or why not visit some of the oldest cities in the world like York? The stone architecture here is incredible and certainly worth a look. There are museums, horse racing, activities on the rivers, and even ghost hunting tours to enjoy. Local food here is worth sampling too. Many popular English dishes are thought to have originated here.

Cornwall

If surfing is your thing, then you can’t miss an opportunity to head to the far South West corner of England. The surf here is some of the best and most challenging in the world. There are plenty of other water sports to enjoy here too. Many people like to travel down here in a campervan and use the van as their primary accommodation. There are plenty of quaint Bed and Breakfast houses to choose from too. Cornwall is also home to the Eden Project. This is a world-renowned conservation site that cultivates rare and exotic plants.

Liverpool

Liverpool was home to The Beatles and many other world-famous musicians. As you can imagine, musical culture is very important to the area. But the history of Liverpool runs deep into Maritime adventures. Ship building was important here, and the docks are still a great place to visit today. Shopping opportunities are plentiful, and there are many great restaurants. Best of all, the museums have plenty of great activities for the kids to get involved with.

Leeds

Leeds is home to a major television studio, so there are plenty of opportunities to spot a few celebrities. It is also home to some great boutiques and other shopping centers. This city is in Yorkshire but has a culture and personality all of its own. It is also the city you may pass through to reach the Angel Of The North on your way to Sunderland and Newcastle.

England has plenty to offer. Many people come to England to see the beauty of the countryside. With so many varieties of landscape, it’s easy to understand why. Others come to explore the history of this tiny country. There are castles in every county to visit, and museums are usually free. Enjoy your vacation in England this year.
