I wanted to take a moment to highlight a mother whom I personally admire, Lisa Leonard.
Lisa started her jewelry company, Lisa Leonard Designs, when her first son, was born.
Lisa and her husband have two beautiful children. Their oldest, David, was born with a rare condition, and it is amazing to see the warrior inside of each mother. The way she handled innocence and ignorance in this story brought tears to my eyes.
Lisa has shown true compassion for others, and did an entire hurricane Sandy relief fundraiser, donating part of the proceeds of her sales to the American Red Cross. She was inspired after seeing the babies getting evacuated from the NICU, an area of the hospital so many of us mothers are familiar with, so it hits very close to home.
I also wanted to point out Lisa’s heart for connecting and loving people regardless of their location. Lisa has donated to the Fayye Foundation. Her donation will directly help our newest project, reducing the mortality of mothers in the Sidama region of Ethiopia through clean water access, education, and medical care. She is helping us to keep mothers and babies safe, healthy, and together.
So, go check out Lisa Leonard’s blog and store. You will fall in love with the spirit and joy in her pieces.
