Mom uses a selfie stick to document life with baby and it gets real

Written by:  Jamie

Move over mommies with romanticized and highly stylized Instagram accounts, there is a new woman in town. Skorobogatova Yuliya of Moscow decided to show the world what it is really like as a stay-at-home-mom… and stuff got real… really real…

For those of you who are or have ever been primary caregivers of small children, this will hit close to home.

Even though I appreciate all forms of breastfeeding photos because help normalize our society’s view of it, I do kind of love the realness of her breastfeeding selfie image. (Pictured above.)

The best part of this is that the most intimate moments were not off limits in this photo series. I know I personally never realized how much I appreciated peeing alone until I had young kids.

Or bathing alone…

Getting ready with a baby is not only unglamorous, it’s also extremely stressful for many of us. I am all about the stained basic white nursing bra in the series, which was my uniform for the first 18 months of my child’s life.

But above all else, cooking a meal with a baby is almost impossible. This is a task only taken on superheroes… I’m pretty sure about this.

But before we forget, the person at home is often designated with the majority of the household chores because… and well, how hard can it be? What else are you possibly doing all day?

But before we get ahead of ourselves, there are things that need to be done outside the house as well.

First everyone needs to get ready…

Time to get dressed (babies love this…)

And now everyone can go out and get some fresh air with some judge-y moms at the park.

And keep up basic female maintenance…

Upkeep can also be done when your baby naps.

Multitasking

It’s almost dinner time, which means everyone can relax and enjoy a nice meal together eat to stay alive.

Although you may be completely beat, your baby has superhuman stamina… or maybe that late afternoon nap (those glorious minutes of peace and quiet) are biting you in the butt now.

But because you are such a badass, you rally and gather some strength to finish out the day right.

Okay, okay, let’s be serious for a minute. Yes, motherhood can be really hard and we need to be able to talk freely about the struggles so many of us face.. it’s healthy to do so!

…but the end of the day, it’s not easy to see why all the work is totally worth it.
