Joe Riquelme is the creator of the extremely popular iPhone app called VideoShop.
Cool, huh? Well, Joe is the kind of guy who may have made it big at a fairly young age, but he isn’t a frivolous spender. His parents obviously are a huge part of his life, and so with his success Joe decided to give back as a gesture of love an appreciation- he paid off their mortgage!
His parents reaction left our entire team in tears. Obviously, relieving that financial burden of a home payment would be extremely helpful to almost anyone, but it was clear that it was much more emotional and meaningful them than that.
My sister always has said children are such a gift, honor them and they will honor you. I think that is exactly why this is so touching to all of us…it isn’t the grand spending, it’s the honoring of two hard-working and loving parents.
