Ivory Coast Chocolate Farmers Taste Chocolate for the First Time

Written by:  Jamie

Cocoa farmers in Ivory Coast find out what their beans are used for and what the finished product tastes like when they sample their first chocolate bar.

Cocoa beans are often an export-only product for many farmers who work long hours to make a living. Also, a chocolate bar costs half of what the entire team of farmers makes in one day. This is why we need to always be mindful and only purchase chocolate from ethical and fair-trade sources.

For more information on how and why to buy ethical chocolate, please visit foodispower.org.
