In 2010, Spencer and Whitney started blogging about their struggles with infertility and adoption. In 2010, they adopted their first son and in 2014 they welcomed their second son into their home.

One of the struggles they faced is seeing everyone’s fun pregnancy announcements, something they feel they missed out on. In the spirit of tackling life with humor, they decided to remake them as infertility announcements.

“We realize that is not how everyone deals with challenges, but for us personally, for this particular problem, we found that having a sense of humor made infertility a bit more bearable”

“Though the infertility is still there, the struggle is mostly not. What used to be such a consuming, challenging part of our life is now usually more of a passing thought.”

“We are so grateful to be parents, but we have not forgotten how lonely and horrible infertility can feel, which is why we thought we’d create something to connect with others who are going through what we went through.”
“This one also took us quite a few tries to get the bubbles timed right for the picture. Waiting, timing, failing — an appropriate coincidence for infertility.”

Spencer and Whitney have received a lot of messages thanking them for these photos and saying they gave other couples in the midst of fertility struggles a much needed laugh.
