How to protect your family from vampires

Written by:  Jamie

My wife is an elementary school principal.  Every so often a kid will come to school and bring with them the hitchhiking vampires known as bed bugs.  They are tiny little parasites that feed on the blood of their host (like you or your kids).  It’s always an ordeal to make sure that the infestation doesn’t spread and it can prove to be really costly for the families when they have to treat their entire house.  In several instances my wife’s school has actually paid for the family’s house to be treated simply because it wasn’t possible for the family to pay for it out-of-pocket.  It’s definitely something I have thought about, with 2 children in daycare and a principal wife, that bed bugs could be brought into our home.  I did some very scientific google research (haha) and came across a website for bed bug *prevention* to stop something like this before it happens.  The cool thing about this site is that they offer “kits” not only for the home, but also for when you’re traveling or for dorm rooms.  You can send one with your kids to college or buy a kit to protect your home. Or next time you go to that shady hotel room for whatever it is you do on the weekends, you can bring one of their kits with you and at least prevent bed bugs (no promises on preventing anything else though).
