Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina created laboratory-grown vaginal organs that were successfully transplanted into young women with a rare medical condition.
The transplants were all performed on teenage girls (ages 13-18) who had been affected by Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome. A new breastfeeding bill recently made it through the New Hampshire House’s Labor Committee.
The bill, which was cut significantly prior to approval, left out a guarantee of paid or unpaid leave to breastfeed during work hours. However, the final cut still aims to prevent breastfeeding mothers from facing discrimination.
