Family Travel To Dubrovnik

With its superb location on the coast of the gorgeous Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik should be at the top of your list when planning your next family holiday. Even a weekend in Dubrovnik can make you feel relaxed, boost your morale, and recharge your spirits. Plus, the sights and wonders in the said city are simply captivating and are well worth your time money and effort. With its old-world charm, stunning coastline, and intriguing culture, there is something to please every member of the family in Dubrovnik.

Attractions

Dubrovnik is steeped in tradition and culture, and visitors will simply love the chance to take a stroll around the beautiful old town area where most of the city’s best attractions are found. The old cobblestone alleys and streets are a fantastic place to explore, especially for families looking to entertain inquisitive children.

Placa Stradun sits at the centre of Dubrovnik’s old town area, and is perhaps the best place to start a day of sightseeing. Quaint old shop houses and stores line the streets of Placa Stradun, providing visitors with a great chance to enjoy not only the history, but also the fine architecture of the city. Some of the other top attractions in Dubrovnik’s old town include the famous Bell Tower and Roland’s Column.

Accommodation

Dubrovnik has a wide range of accommodation options available, with many offering great deals for families. A number of excellent mid-ranged hotels and guesthouses can be found in the old town itself, and represent excellent value for money as well as providing you with a strategic location from which to enjoy all of the best attractions, restaurants and museums on offer. Hotels located around the Buza Gate or the Old Town Gate are a particularly good bets given their proximity to some of the most popular attractions in the area.

Beachside Breeze

The spectacular Adriatic coastline is one of Dubrovnik’s biggest draw cards, with families coming to soak up the fresh sea breeze whilst taking in the picture-perfect scenery that stretches on as far as the eye can see. The sparkling blue water provides a stunning backdrop to the many laid-back cafes and restaurants found in the popular Lapad Beach area. If the main beaches are a little too crowded for you, you might like to take a relaxing boat ride across to nearby Lokrum Island.

Whilst these attractions represent just a snap-shot of the great attractions on offer, Dubrovnik has so much more for visitors to enjoy. With friendly locals that will make you feel at home, Dubrovnik is without a doubt a great choice for those looking to enjoy a fun-filled and relaxing holiday with all the family.
