During the time of COVID-19, parents are certainly looking for new and exciting ways to entertain their children. After all, everyone is spending much more time around the house than they are used to these days!
So, if you’re a parent of one, two, three or more rambunctious kids who seem to be going a little stir-crazy these days (I mean, who can blame them), here are some great ways to keep them happy, engaged and entertained around the house.
Let’s get started!
One great way to have fun with your kids and get them away from the television for at least one night is to encourage them to play with you and the rest of your family on a game night. Buying some wholesale toys and games for affordable prices for you and your family will offer you a great way to connect, have fun and enjoy the simpler things in life.
Start a family garden
While it’s still hot and sunny outside, one great way to engage your kids and teach them some fantastic lessons about hard work and the Earth itself is get them involved in planting a home garden. Not only will your kids cherish the experience of actually being encouraged to play in the dirt, they will also love to see how the plants start to grow as time goes on.
Even better, this is a great way to get your kids to actually eat their vegetables!
Arts and crafts
Another activity that is both incredibly fun and will help your children build skills and confidence is to get an arts and crafts table set up. Buy some wonderful paints, clays, colored pencils and more and see their incredible imagination go to work.
Pay them for simple chores
If you are looking for other ways to motivate your kids to stay active, consider paying them a certain amount of money so that they take care of some simple and safe chores around the house. Even something like scrubbing the countertops, dusting the shelves, or sweeping the floor could be a great way to get them to help you keep your home spick and span. At the end of it all, give them a couple of bucks for their hard work, or simply offer to buy them a delicious treat of their choosing.
Have you been waiting to show your kids one of your all-time favorite childhood movies? There is no better time than right now. Consider dressing the living room up as a movie theater and making movie theater-style popcorn to really set the mood of going to the movies even though you’re right at home.
Camp in the backyard
One final way to entertain your children during COVID-19 is to take the camping tent out of the basement and set it up in your backyard. Your whole can sleep out there. If you’re really looking to make it special, consider buying a safe fire pit and roasting hotdogs and some more over an open fire before you snuggle into your favorite sleeping bag.
