Decals can be targeted as fun ways to advertise or even express yourself or your business. You might want to put one decal on car window or in store window. There are two types available. One is the static cling decal and another one is the adhesive window decals.
For applying the adhesive ones, you have to clean the surrounding area properly first. Then you need to remove protective cover and position the decal well. After that, you need a hard plastic object, much like credit card for applying it and for removing the bubbles.
Now, when it comes to the static cling decals, you have to use one wet solution for applying the large decals and then use the dry method for the smaller ones. So, based on the type of decal you have chosen for your purpose, the application process will differ quite a bit.
Determine the right conditions first:
It is mandatory for you to apply the decal when the surrounding weather seems mild. Do not try to apply the decals when the temperature is either extremely hot or cold. Most of the time, it is recommended to apply decal when the temperature is around 50 degree to 70 degree F.
In case you are trying to go for the outdoor decals, then be sure that the weather is not windy and it is not pouring rain. Always for the application when you have ample natural light around. It can be a bit hard to tell if the glass is clean if you try to apply the decal at night time.
Make sure to clean the window glass:
Before you even plan to apply the decal on the selected place, make sure to clean the area. You can use the power of ether alcohol or soap with water for cleaning the area.
- Do not try to use any window cleaning product on window as the residue these solutions will leave might prevent the decal from sticking on the surface.
- Be sure to let the glass air dry first after you clean it. Do not try to wipe it with a paper or cloth towel as that might leave behind some particles, which might get trapped under the decal.
Don’t forget to remove the air bubbles from decals:
Always try to prepare the decal before you plan to place it on the window. For that, use something with thin edge for covering the process. Take credit card or similar other objects and then run it alongside of decal with clear tape from one edge to another. The main goal is to remove any kind of air bubbles from beneath the decal. Be sure to use enough pressure for smoothing out the air bubble. But be very careful as you are dealing with glass here.
Follow simple steps:
Make sure to keep these simple steps in mind and it won’t be a difficult task for you to put the window decal where you like to place it the most.
