Jack Mook is the quintessential “tough guy” detective. For fun, he volunteers at the Steel City Boxing Gym, teaching the sport to underprivileged kids. When 11-year-old Jesse and 15-year-old Josh stopped coming to the gym, Jack’s detective antennae went up, and decided to go search for the boys. When he found them, he discovered that their foster parents were abusing and neglecting the children. Jack called in a few favors so that Jesse and Josh would be placed in his home. Suddenly, the no-nonsense bachelor became a foster parent. This past year, after two years of being a foster family, they became a house full of Mooks when Jack legally adopted the boys.
