My daughter and I made it 2.5years before the nursing aversion got to be too much at 36weeks pregnant. I felt like a failure for a long time for not making it through my pregnancy, but I am so proud of how long we made it! - Victora Geertgens

She was 2.5 in this picture, but is still breastfeeding at 3. When there is a nipple in her view she is headed to latch on. She loves her milk and her boobies. I appreciate every moment. -Bekah Parker

Baby girl is now 2.5 years and our goal is self-weaning. I had no plans on nursing this long, but I am SO glad I did. No one told me how wonderful this was going to be, so I’m telling you, now. If you’re considering nursing your child into toddler-hood, go ahead. There are some rough milestones and breastfeeding is a great tool to get baby through them. Once you’re past them, though, you’re in for a new and beautiful experience. This is The Golden Age of Breastfeeding. -Lashonda Jones Neal Photos by Jenn V Photography
