Are Craps rigged at Casino Sites?

Written by:  Rex

We all love playing online slot games and Craps, whether it is at a land-based casino or online. However, we all like to make sure that we have a balanced and fair chance to hit the jackpot, and therefore it’s important to ask – are Craps rigged at casino sites, or is it really luck of the draw? Well, we have looked into this so that you don’t have to, so read on to find out if you’re really getting your money’s worth!

How does Craps actually work?

Craps is a game purely based on the roll of the dice – whether you win or lose depends on complete chance. The rules are as followed:

Step 1:

Place your bet on the pass line. Usually table minimums will be five or ten pounds,

but this can vary depending on the casino.

Step 2:

You will be given five die – take two, roll, and if you come out with a 7 or 11, you have already got the money in the bag! Roll 2, 3, or 12 – and the bet loses, known as ‘craps’.

Step 3:

If you roll any other number, it is not over yet – this number will become the ‘point’. You will now need to roll the same number again before a 7 is rolled in order to win on your second chance!

Misconceptions about rigged Craps games

A lot of people assume that there is always a way that the casino can rig your game – common misconceptions around this include:

–        Weighted dice

–        Unfair RNGs

–        Fake players or ‘shooters’

Not only do these situations basically never occur, but it would be very much illegal. Winnings from Craps is based completely on the roll of the dice, or in the case of online casinos, the triggering of a random number generator. There is simply no way to legitimately influence this, both for the player and the casino. Play a few games and add up the numbers, and you will see for yourself. The only situation we can imagine a game of Craps being rigged is if the casino you are playing at is illegitimate. However, this is not really something you should be too worried about. Gambling is a highly regulated industry, and anything preventing a fair and balanced game is highly frowned upon, and very much regulated.

So, it’s pretty balanced? There’s no chance of a rigged game?

As long as you are using a legitimate website – yes. Both land-based and online casinos are highly regulated, and with audits and fines on the rise, any dodgy dice or RNGs would be sniffed out by enforcers and dealt with within days. In 2021 there are more online casinos than ever, so it’s almost impossible to find a rigged website – just make sure that you always do your research and ensure that the website has a legitimate history. For the most part though, this is not something you will come across, so don’t worry – continue playing Craps and have fun!
