These military moms, stationed at Fort Bliss, gathered last week to participate in this beautiful photo shoot which was thoughtfully planned out by Tara Ruby Photography to celebrate the ability to be a military member and still enjoy the bond of breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding their babies doesn’t make them less of a soldier, I believe it makes them a better one. Juggling the tasks and expectations of a soldier, plus providing for their own in the best way they possibly can, makes these ladies even stronger for it.
Tara explains that she was once active duty, back when support for breastfeeding was virtually non-existent. To celebrate how far the military, and society, have come and to encourage future support and normalization she put together this photo shoot.

The photo has already disappeared from Tara’s facebook page once, likely due to reports from people uncomfortable seeing this. It also disappeared from the facebook pages of some of her partners in setting up this photo, including Breastfeeding in Combat Boots It is a beautiful image of motherhood, of strength, of working moms and of honoring military families.
The mom kissing her baby’s hand is just too much cuteness to handle!
