A New York woman buys out an entire toy store for homeless youth

Written by:  Jamie

This Christmas, homeless kids in New York City will receive a special surprise thanks to Carol Suchman.

Carol was recently walking past a toy store, in the West Village, and noticed their “Going Out of Business” sign. While most might make a note to go back and save on their own Christmas shopping, Carol thought to just buy out the entire store.

After some negotiation, she bought thousands of toys, art and school supplies, and stuffed animals; then gave it all to the city’s Department of Homeless Services. This isn’t something new for Carol; each year she buys hundreds of toys for DHS to give foster kids birthday presents. This is the first time she’s bought an entire store, though.

It’s safe to say Carol just worked her way to the top of Santa’s nice list.
